Bio: Was born in Chang Shan, and at his birth the soothsayers had said there was great things to come about for this child. When he was 10 years old he could read and recite the confucian analects and was already adept at spear fighting and swordplay. He could bend the 100 cattie bow and fire from his horse while riding. His teacher was astonished at his nature and so he sent him on a test. He told him to get a peice of jade from inside a cave on the top of Mount Tai. So Cheng left on this quest and his master told him of the way to go He would cross the small bridge at the river, and then take the left path up the mountain, and as he came to the river he saw a woodcutter chopping wood. There was a very small and weak bridge there, and the current was fast. Cheng said to the woodcutter "How do you get to mount Tai from here?" The wood cutter said "That way is no good, I know of a strong bridge where you can cross." So Cheng took that way and went along his way. As he was going up the mountain he saw two paths, he did not know which one to go to so he waited. He then saw a Taoist priest comming down from one path and Cheng asked him "Which path is the safest to go up mount Tai?" The priest replied "The right one, from whence I just came down. The other path is rocky and filled with snakes, this one is level and safe." Cheng thanked the priest and then went on his way. He found the jade in the mountain and then went back to his teacher. The teacher asked him "did you encounter anyone on your way up the mountain?" Cheng thought his master would be angry that he didn't follow the way he was told to go, but he thought it best that he tell the truth. He related his whole story and as he finished his master said. "I put those people there to help you get up the mountain, and I am glad you were truthful in relating your story. Great things will befall on you because of your honesty." Later Cheng became the ruler for the Xian Bei barbarians, and united them into a kingdom which could compete with the likes of Wei, Wu and Shu. He anexed the Southern Xiong Nu, and fought with Ke'bening. They became great friends, with Ke'bening standing whenever Cheng was in the presence of guests. They were always the commanders of the right and left cavalry respectively. He elminated all of his opponents and treated them well, so that they would join him. His story was just begining...
