Tier One (available to everyone)
Skirmishers- (10 gold for 10 troops) Lightly equipped troops who carry a very light wooden shield and three javelins to throw at the enemy. Once they run out of the javelins, they throw rocks. They are also equipped with a weak dagger just in case.
Light Swordsmen- (20 gold for 10 troops) The most basic of units, swordsmen wield short weak swords; they are good for scouting the enemy and quickly attacking a routing army. They wear leather armor, and if they take on any of the stronger units, they will be decimated.
Spearmen- (20 gold for 10 troops) These are the most basic spearmen. They wield long sharpened sticks, and have no armor. These are good for stopping a cavalry charge, if you can keep them to hold the line.
Hunters- (10 gold for 20 troops) These are basic bowmen, who wield short bows and padded cloth armor. These are good for harassing the flanks of the enemy to cluster, and then close in with your heavy infantry and cavalry.
Horsemen- (30 gold for 10 troops) These men ride into battle with light armor, and a long sword. They are especially good for scouting the enemy. They can beat almost all units, except for heavier cavalry, and units armed with a spear.
